15 minutes of Insert Paper gameplay with no commentary so you will have a good impression of the game without any big spoilers. Read the full review and more info below. Will you play this game? Or have you already played it? Let me know in the comments :) Insert Paper Review: This is an indie game with potential. Major plus is the 80s Stranger things type music. Really good job on that one! The graphics are okay. Another great point is the bit of programming where each room is randomly generated. The explanation of the gameplay and controls are a bit lacking. At the start I picked up a video tape and had no clue how to put it in the inventory/ hide it from view. Turned it, moved it, tried Esc… that send me to the menu. E, Q, Z, CTRL and then started pressing all keys on the keyboard... qwertyuiop. After pressing every key on the board and took another look at the menu I guessed that TAB might be the solution. The mini puzzle of removing the video tape from screen kept me occupied so much that I forgot to put the tape in the VCR. 1 tutorial line can fix this one :). "Press TAB to hide or view the object in your inventory". The gameplay is not rocket science, follow the tasks on the computer screen, grab the correct papers and insert them. You cannot view your total inventory, just 1 item at a time. So you end up shredding a lot of papers. Or you can place them on a handy desk that somehow filled up pretty fast. When I found another VCR and put the video tape into it the game got interesting. You get little parts of a story that is worth your time. It triggers you to continue and insert the next papers just to see what happens next on that little 80s TV screen. After an hour I felt like a real bona fide bureaucrat and I was getting bored. At this point I thought... okay just one more... It actually was the last one and finished the game. Perfect timing. The Good: Great 80's sci-fi music Story is interesting, could be more elaborate You can sprint really fast It has achievements A full bona fide bureaucratic experience The Bad: Gets boring after a while Expensive for the amount of gameplay The game can be completed in about 1,5 hours, depending on your pace. You can play it a few more times for the achievements. I find the price a bit steep for the amount of gameplay so I suggest getting it in a sale. If an authentic bureaucratic experience is on your bucket list, or you simply enjoy indie games, this game is a must play for you! Insert Paper Game Information: You don't know who or where you are.
