Drive from Reykjavík in the company of our piano tuner, Diddi, to join the band in Djúpavík out on the far Western end of the Snæfellsnes peninsula about a quarter of the way clockwise round the country. The day is clear and cloudless, exactly as we might have hoped against hope we would have in this especially lousy Icelandic summer. So good, in fact, is the weather that I feel paradoxically gloomy at the notion that it can’t possibly last through the next two weeks of shooting this first ever film of Sigur Rós live. Still, as we leave the city you can clearly see the Snæfell glacier glinting on the horizon some hundred and twenty odd miles away." - John Best
