Niitaka Asian Pear Tree Fruits - Candy Sweet With Aromatic Flavor Of Caramel & Butterscotch WOW!

Niitaka is a large, highly russeted yellow-orange-brown pear with coarse texture but excellent size. The flesh is juicy and sweet and is more heavily textured with bland flavor than most Asian varieties. The Niitaka pear is candy-sweet with aromatic flavors of caramel and butterscotch that Niitaka Asian Pear develop in layers on your tongue. This Asian variety is solid russet with pronounced lenticels. The tree is a dense growing spur-type. This tree needs high maintenance like pruning and thinning. Fire blight susceptible. The Niitaka (Pyrus Pyrifolia) pear has a more mottled look to it. These natural and typical Asian pear "spots" are brownish in color with a cascading russet tint that unevenly saturates and overlays the outer skin of the fruit. Fruit will keep in storage up to four months.
