Well that was obviously an April Fool's Joke. Most everyone who saw the Tweet DID IN FACT understand it was a parody of the DBZ Orange Bricks trailer and a complete meme, but a few others actually thought it was real, which was really funny to us. I'm glad the joke was a moderate success, and to thank everyone for participating in it, here's the raw 4K 16mm clip from that comparison for your enjoyment. This is the very first example of native 4K episode content from any Dragon Ball source. ANYTHING ELSE ON THE INTERNET IS NOT TRUE 4K, BUT AN UPSCALE FROM A LOWER QUALITY SOURCE. THIS AND ONLY THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. Aside from the opening (which was a 35mm to 16mm dupe and thus blurrier than what it would normally be), this truly is what 4K Dragon Ball could look like (and even better if properly restored!) if in the right hands. Well, good thing we have a handful of episodes. Not all of them, sadly, but a handful. This 16mm print was scanned in 4K with no image or color alterations whatsoever aside from encoding for the web. There was no dirt or scratch removal done in this example so what you see is the print's natural state when we scanned it. The audio here is the optical track on the print itself, which sounds better than any DVD release, but obviously does not sound as good as the original broadcast audio. We are in the very early planning stages of a project with the episodes we currently have which will require some support from the community, but more information on that will come later.
