"Let me use my stethoscope to listen to your heart and lungs." Blood Pressure Monitor : used to measure blood pressure. "I need to check your blood pressure with this monitor. Please relax your arm." Thermometer ": for measuring & indicating temperature. I'll take your temperature with this digital thermometer. It will only take a few seconds." Pulse Oximeter: measures the oxygen saturation level of the blood. "I'm going to place this pulse oximeter on your finger to check your oxygen levels." Glucometer: measures the approximate concentration of glucose in the blood. "Let's use the glucometer to check your blood sugar levels before your meal." Syringe: injects fluids into or withdraw them from the body. "I need to give you an injection, so I'll prepare this syringe." IV Drip (Intravenous Drip): delivers fluids, medications, or nutrients directly into a patient's vein. "We'll set up an IV drip to make sure you get the fluids you need." Catheter: can be inserted into a body cavity, duct, or vessel to allow for drainage, injection of fluids, or access by surgical instruments. "I'm going to insert a catheter to help you with urination." Bandages: used to bind a wound or to protect an injured body part.. "After cleaning the wound, I'll apply these bandages to protect it from infection." Defibrillator: delivers a dose of electric current (shock) to the heart to restore a normal beat. "In case of an emergency, the defibrillator is used to restart the heart." Scalpel: used in surgeries & medical procedures. "Please hand me the scalpel for the incision." Gloves: covering for hands worn by medical professionals to prevent contamination & spread of infection. "I always wear gloves to maintain hygiene while treating wounds." Face Mask: covering the nose & mouth or nose, mouth, & eyes, worn to reduce the spread of infectious agents. "Please wear this face mask to protect yourself and others." Gown: worn by medical staff during surgical procedures/patient care to maintain hygiene. "I'll put on a sterile gown before assisting in the surgery." Tuning Fork: used to test hearing or vibration sense. "I'm using this tuning fork to check your hearing." Otoscope: to examine the ear canal & eardrum. "I'll use the otoscope to check for any signs of ear infection." Penlight: used to examine patients, especially to check pupil responses. "I'll use this penlight to check your pupils for any abnormalities." Walker: used for support when walking, typically for elderly & injured patients. "Use the walker to help you move around safely after your surgery." Wheelchair: A chair fitted with wheels "I'll take you to your room in a wheelchair for your comfort." Crutches: Mobility aids that help a person walk "I'll teach you how to use the crutches to move around safely." Sterilizer: used to sterilize medical instruments "All surgical tools must go through the sterilizer before being used." Medical Chart: a record of a patient's medical history & treatment. "Make sure to update the patient's medical chart with today's observations." Suction Machine: used to remove bodily fluids from a patient's airway & surgical site. "During the procedure, we used a suction machine to clear the airway." ECG Machine (Electrocardiogram): measures the electrical activity of the heart. "We'll use the ECG machine to monitor your heart's activity." Nebulizer: administers medication in a mist inhaled into the lungs. "I'll set up the nebulizer to help you with your breathing treatment."
