Dampier Peninsula; The Ultimate FREE camping guide | James Price Point | Pender Bay | Rockpools

OVERHEATED and over it! Welcome back! In this week's episode, we head to the Dampier Peninsula, located north of Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. On the way, we stopped in at Coconut Wells, a natural attraction located just a short drive from Broome. At low tide, hidden rockpools are revealed, whereas at high tide, a vast turquoise lagoon seemingly fills up out of nowhere. During high tide, you can head to the lagoon with your floaty in hand and float your way down the lagoon. We spent a few nights at Middle Lagoon campground, enjoying the stunning views and serene atmosphere before heading to Pender Bay. Pender Bay Escapes is a beautiful and secluded bush campsite overlooking Pender Bay. A private and unique destination that has been on our bucket list for some time. This campsite is well known for its bath tubs perched along the cliff overlooking the ocean. Pender Bay is 4WD accessible only and is a beautiful spot to launch your boat and go for a fish. This beautiful bay is known for its love heart shaped rock and beautiful walk to one of the most amazing rock pools. We stayed on three camp sites during our stay: C2, C3, and B8, and honestly, we loved B8 the most, even though it did not have a bathtub; it had the most stunning uninterrupted views. If we were to come again, we would check out G1. It had the best of both worlds: a bathtub to cool off in and a stunning view, clear of any trees or shrubs. Bookings: https://book-directonline.com/propert... Fees: $40pn ( $ and EFT available) Amenities: toilets and bins available. Bookings: Depending on the time of year, we booked in advance. Dogs: NOT allowed. We headed back into town to have our fridge looked at before heading back out to James Price Point, located 65 km north of Broome. This free camp simply took our breath away. The rich red cliffs and bright blue ocean water created a stunning contrast that was truly unforgettable. The peaceful atmosphere and lack of crowds made it the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoying nature at its finest. Now if you are the kind of family that doesn't enjoy your caravan getting dirty, this isn't the spot for you. Layne was an oompa loompa by the end of our stay, but it was well worth it for the incredible experience. The sunsets at James Price Point were absolutely breathtaking, making it a must-visit destination for any nature lover. On wiki camps, you will see that there are some rock pools nearby called Minarriny (Coulomb Point). The best way to get there is along the beach at low tide; enter from flat rock campground; there is a sand ramp going down to the beach; come back up flat rock campground; not the same sandy ramp as it is very boggy. Be cautious of the tides when visiting Minarriny (Coulomb Point). You need a mid to low tide for the rock pools to be revealed. If you are staying in Broome we would recommend the Broome Caravan Park. We stayed in September and only paid $35 a night for power and water which was a hell of a lot cheaper than we caravan parks directly in town. When we came back from the Dampier Peninsula the rate further decreased to $22 per night. #broome #freecamping #westernaustralia #campingaustralia #4wd
