This spot is one of the most fascinating places we have stopped at yet. Mary Kathleen was a busy town full of families, shops and houses. Once the mine closed down the town was no longer needed and as it stands today, there are only a few bricks and concrete slabs left and you have to use your imagination for the rest. We visited the Uranium mine were the water is still to this day radioactive. We went on a day trip to the Fountain Springs and visited the Wee MacGregor Mine tunnel. 77 metres in length and so fascinating. Filled with bats and carvings from years and years ago.
