HiSpec tanker gets cracked chassis repaired

In this video I repair the chassis on a HiSpec slurry tanker. The chassis had cracked on both sides where the spring hangers had been welded on, a bit of a poor design and the fact the bar from one side to the other had broken out resulted in there being too much flex. I gouged out the crack with the plasma and grinder then welded back up. To add extra strength into the area and transfer the load further up into the chassis I cnc plasma cut some plates out, pressed them to shape then weld over the affect area. Gussets from the spring hangers onto the new plates were then welded in. The ends of the old broken tube were cut out and a new replacement tube was welded in. The same process was then repeated at the back due to cracks starting to emerge there also. Last job was to weld up a crack that had starter on the end of the tanker where the boom folded up into. This was also plasma gouged out and rewelded with an extra gusset added in. Hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.
