UPDATE: Council tool has now released their jersey pattern axe with a 32" handle, I would add this to my recommendations In this video I explain what makes the ideal axe for the cordwood challenge and what needs to be done to make them ready for work There are a lot of axes on the market however few are the ideal size to make a general purpose and versatile axe. Most are too long making it awkward to use, too heavy tiring out the user quickly or designed to be small and portable for bushcraft making them too light for forestry work.
