Chris McBride has captained the Lost Wonder Hut (mile 55) aid station every year, and finally gets the chance to run the race. His family continues to volunteer and work that aid station even while he runs the race. Rachel Meier returns to the race after not finishing the previous year. She's motivated to succeed but knows that to beat the cutoff she will have to dig deep. Dave Mackey is looking for the next challenge following his successful return to the 100 distance as an adaptive athlete.
