Replaced the ECM on a 13 Toyota Corolla. The process is the same for all 10th generation (2009-2013) Corollas and similar to the 9th generation (2003-2008) Corollas. It's very important that you get the replacement ECM programmed to your specific car. If not, you will not be able to start your car after replacing it. Tools: rachet 10mm socket socket extensions flathead screwdriver star bit screwdriver DIY programming: On the 16 pin data link connector (OBDII) you locate pin number 4 at the top row and pin number 13 along the bottom row and make a jumper wire. Once the jumper wire (can use a paper clip) is installed you turn the ignition to the on position so your lights come on the dash, several lights will start flashing, once you see this you're supposed to let it sit for 30 minutes. Once the 30 minutes is up you turn the ignition to the off position then remove the jumper wire. At this point the ECM should be programmed to your vehicle, and you should be able to turn the ignition on and start the car.
