Curtis Pond It's about dam time project 4K

The Curtis Pond dam project is finally underway and it has been a 20 year process to get the failing dam repaired. The Army Corps of Engineers declared the dam extremely unsafe and hazardous but the state has refused to offer any help due to the land being privately owned. The citizens of the town raised $800K for the project to begin last year but heavy rains and flooding delayed the project. That delay raised the price to $1.4 million during 1 year and the town was unable to begin construction this year. Until, more flooding occurred again this year which opened up several million in federal funds to Vermont. Some of these funds were used to help fund the remaining bill on the dam. I have some before construction footage and the current state of the new dam as of August 1st, in this video. I'll be stopping back out here again and hopefully will be filming a finished dam sometime this year.
