The authours of the Alberta Wetland Policy Professional Practice Standards share their experience with its development and its implementation, in this 1-hr webinar. First, a short presentation that sets up the context of the panel discussion, and provides: -The regulatory context, to identify which legislation drives the use of them, -The origin story of the practice standards, -The scope of the Competency Advisory Group or CAG, or authors of the practice standards, -The responsibilities of various parties that are outlined in the practice standards, -Applications of the practice standards, -Requirements for being an Authenticating Wetland Professional, and -Competencies for conducting Wetland Policy tasks. After the presentation, the panel discussed: -What are the documents that you have authenticated? -What does authentication mean in your organization? -What is the difference between an Authenticating Wetland Professionals and a Wetland Practitioner or Qualified Wetland Science Professional -How much E&O insurance is deemed to be the standard terms of their profession? -Where do I register as an AWP? -In the Standards, it does not indicate that the Water Act application nor the WAIF require authentication, but in the DRAS and OneStop it requires the name of the AWP. -Do you know of other places in the Water Act process where Authentication is Required? -What levels of skill are expected in each knowledge area? -How do you prove that you are competent in a knowledge area?
