Cleaning & Testing a Chinon 35FA Snap I Bought for $5 | ASMR

There isn't a lot of information about the Chinon 35FA Snap out there. The best info I could find was here: http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Chinon_35... I snagged this old point & shoot at an Omaha thrift store for $5. I know that's a running joke in the film community, but it's true! It was marked $9.99 but it was 50% off that day so... $5. I was able to test that it powered on in the store, but I didn't do much testing beyond that. In this video I try to get the flash to work, but it doesn't seem to be charging up even after letting it sit for several minutes. I also couldn't get the rewind motor to turn on, but I want to test it with a roll of test film before I conclude that there's an issue with the rewind mechanism or electronics. The aperture / shutter blades do open and close when taking a picture, and it has a healthy shutter and winding sound from what I can tell. I like that this has a slide cover for the lens, and I'm particularly impressed that this has a fixed 35mm f/2.8 lens. To me this is the ideal setup for any point and shoot camera. The wrist strap is not removable (at least not easily), and I'd prefer it to allow me to add my own wrist strap but that's not the case here. Overall this camera was in great shape cosmetically, and I look forward to testing some film with it.
