10. Paddelfestival - Kanupark Markkleeberg - Mai 2024

Der KCP beim zehnten XXL Paddelfestival Kanupark Markkleeberg im Mai 2024 Trainingsstrecke: WW II-III bei 8m³/s Wettkampstrecke: WW III-IV bei 10m³/s Datum: 03.05.2024 - 05.05.2024 Auch dieses Jahr waren wir wieder dabei – mit vier Erwachsenen und vier Jugendlichen KCPlern ging es am Freitag los in Richtung Leipzig – zum zehnten Paddelfestival an der künstlichen Wildwasserstrecke am Markkleeberger See. Auch dieses mal gab es von den Organisatoren wieder viele tolle Aktionen. Neben einem Rollenwettbewerb, bei dem so viele Rollen wie möglich in einer Minute zu schaffen waren (bei 33 konnten wir nicht mithalten), gab es am Samstagabend einen Boatercross auf der Wettkampfstrecke, die dafür extra noch umgesteckt wurde. Dabei starteten je immer 4 Paddler auf einmal. Die ersten zwei kamen in den nächste Runde. Vom Startbecken ging es bis zur Kurve, wo ein etwa 1,5 Meter hoher Drop die schwerste Hürde war. KCPler Lewin ging für die Jugendgruppe an den Start – zwar reichte es (noch) nicht für die Finalrunde, aber dennoch freuen wir uns schon jetzt die Wiederauflage des Boatercross im nächsten Jahr. Abseits davon liefen die Pumpen von Freitagabend bis Sonntagnachmittag tagsüber praktisch dauerhaft. Für den Jüngsten ging es meist zunächst auf die Trainingsstrecke, die mit der wuchtigen Surferwelle und 8 Kubikmetern die Sekunde bei WW II bis III schon recht anspruchsvoll daher kommt. Für die anderen stand die meiste Zeit die Wettkampfstrecke bei WW III bis IV auf dem Plan, die mit vielen wuchtigen Walzen, Abfällen und pulsierenden Kehrwässern das meiste abverlangt, aber – zumindest für die Erfahrenen – auch richtig viel Spaß macht – egal ob Surfen, Tricks in Wellen und Walzen oder Playboating und Boofen über die Drops. Also this time there were many great events from the organizers. In addition to a rolling competition, in which as many rolls as possible could be done in one minute (we couldn't keep up with 33), there was a boatercross on the competition course on Saturday evening, which was specially rearranged for this purpose. 4 paddlers started at once. The first two advanced to the next round. From the starting pool it went to the curve, where a drop about 1.5 meters high was the most difficult hurdle. KCPler Lewin started for the youth group – although it was not (yet) enough for the final round, we are already looking forward to the repetition of the Boatercross next year. Apart from that, the pumps ran alomost continuously during the day from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. For the youngest, it was usually first on the training track, which is quite demanding with the massive surfer wave and 8 cubic meters per second in grade II to III. For the others, most of the time the competition course at WW III to IV was on the schedule, which demands the most with many massive holes, drops and pulsating eddies, but - at least for the experienced - is also a lot of fun - whether surfing, tricks in waves and holes or playboating and boofing over the drops.
