Let me show you how to teardown & rebuild your journal bearing turbo! I'm using a brand new Audi RS2 Turbo, K24-7200, but this should apply to all K24/K26 turbos used in Audis, Porsches, and Volvos. T3/T4 Turbos should also be similar, with some slight differences in internal parts/order. Why am I disassembling a BRAND NEW turbo? Although it was new, it had some surface rust from sitting on a shelf. I wanted to address this rust before it got worse, and protect it from chemicals and corrosion in the future, so I'll be coating it with Cerakote, a DIY friendly ceramic coating. This coating is good to 1800 degrees F, and resistant to all automotive chemicals; it's held up great so far! For more information on K24 K26 Turbos, check out this thread, which also has exploded views and cross sections: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/audi... Notes: The audio from this project was completely hosed because I'm an idiot and forgot to swap the old gopro hero 3 into an open backed housing, the waterproof housing made the audio so quiet you could barely hear it. Lesson learned! The shaft nut is REVERSE THREADED Factory torque value for that nut is 13 ft/lbs. I was not using a torque wrench here becuase the alignment/balance was more important to me than the proper torque setting. Mark your shaft, Nut, and Compressor wheel. The rotational assembly spins at insanely high RPMS, even a slight misbalance will affect the lifespan of your turbo bearings. I should really be using a T-handle ratchet on the shaft nut; this evenly distributes the forces and prevents you from possibly bending the shaft. Do as I say, not as I do :P I recommend that you have your turbocharger rotational assembly re-balanced after doing this; even if you mark the wheel/shaft location. Do as I say, not as I do :P Feel free to ask any questions and sub for more audi 5 cylinder content, cheers! – ♪♫ Artists' Credit & Links ♫♪ – COPYRIGHT FREE MUSIC: • Видео ► Music Credit by: LAKEY INSPIRED • SUBSCRIBE to the LAKEY INSPIRED YouTube channel HERE - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOmy... • Follow LAKEY INSPIRED on SoundCloud HERE - / lakeyinspired • Follow LAKEY INSPIRED on Instagram HERE - / lakeyinspired • Follow LAKEY INSPIRED on Spotify HERE - https://open.spotify.com/artist/3zDGj... • Support LAKEY INSPIRED on Patreon HERE - (Optional) / lakeyinspired
