Here's an awesome jazz standard "Satin Doll," written in 1953 by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. I'm trying to get that swingin' big band groove on the guitar. If you are tapping your toes, then that's what I want....groove on! I always think of Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Oscar Peterson and McCoy Tyner when I play this one. As well, I played it in Harlem every night with Jimmy "Preacher" Robbins on Hammond B3, I guess that's what drove the tune deep into my psyche! Enjoy!
