Using a Landing Gear Oleo Strut Pump on Aircraft

In this quick video, we show the basic operation of servicing a landing gear strut in and airplane with a strut pump. Our example here is a nose gear in a Piper Cherokee that was leaking air from the s header valve at top. After replacing the valve with a new part, and verifying the fluid was properly serviced, we needed to add the air. Sometimes nitrogen is used and is ideal in most applications, however, for this video, we used the strut pump. The strut pump allows you to control the air pressure going. Into the strut more carefully and prevents over servicing. Make sure to understand the principles of the tool and the strut prior to doing this yourself.
