Climbing: Like a goat. Descending: Like a rocket returning to earth. Final Verdict: Great overall Enduro bike. Climbs very well and descends even better. I have been a professional Mountain Biker for around 27 years. During that time I have had the opportunity to ride a lot of different bikes. It is also safe to say we have come a long way from when I first tried a mountain bike in 1986. The new La Sal peak, is the best longer travel bike I have ridden, due to its ability to climb as well as it descends in the Enduro category of bikes, or as I like to call them, Freeride bikes. There is nothing about this bike that resembles it predecessor except for the name. It’s longer, lower, has more travel and it is prettier. For a bike with 170 mm rear travel, it climbs like an all mountain bike with significantly less travel. Once you point it downhill, you quickly understand how much travel it has. I have customized mine personal bike to my liking, with a mullet 29 front wheel and 27.5 rear Crankbrothers Synthesis 11 wheel set up. DVO Onyx 180 mm fork and DVO Jade X rear shock with a Sprindex adjustable coil spring. The TRP DH-R Evo brakes are in my opinion the best brakes on the market, and I am using a TRP TR 12 drive train.
