When using the bus in Caithness (reliable for once) to explore Thurso and take the time to become more aware of the historical details of this Burgh of Barony (compared to royal burgh of Wick)! There are countless historic photos available, tried my best to line them up for easier comparison of the differences that help it to still be a pretty place found in the Scottish Highlands on the NC500. This northerly town dates back to the Vikings and is full of history for this little place. The history is focussed on the river, fishing, the castle and the whole town that is coated with historical details wherever you look.
