Viva prep 5 - Findings

I will be awarded a PhD (or not) based on whether or not I have made an original contribution to knowledge. As I defend my thesis part of what I shall be aiming to do is demonstrate that I have done this: I have known something that has not been known before, understood something previously not fathomned, or just added a little notch of something here or there. My research had two questions at its heart, the big one was how can I do research with people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities, and not so much the smaller one as the one I had less time to explore was: What is the experience of identity within our research encounters. It is the findings from this second question that I attempt to sum up here. As with all of these films, this is me practicing, it is not me saying "here is the finished article" there is a lot of room for improvement and the discussions I have had with friends online in response to these films have helped me develop my answers further. This film also contains the relevance of International Sloth Day, weird craft projects and runnings to the general undertaking of preparing for viva day! *In this film I say that Johanna lived to be 34, this is not accurate, she died when she was 31 - my apologies for the inaccuracy.
