Have you ever asked, why don't the homeless just get a job? What's stopping them, are they lazy or entitled? Union Gospel Mission asked the people we serve in Portland to share their stories and insights. Union Gospel Mission provides more than 200,000 meals a year to the homeless and people in need in Portland. In addition to meals, the mission provides food boxes, a day room with coffee and snacks, clothing, hygiene items, referral services and emergency cold weather shelter to the homeless. Union Gospel Mission is also the home to the LifeChange for Men and the LifeChange for Women and Their Children program, a Christ-centered recovery community.
