In today's video I wil be taking you step by step straight from picking the banana leaves from the garden to serving and enjoying our chicken Luwombo. Discover the history of Luwombo. Luwombo, a meal wrapped in a banana leaf was traditionally known as a royal meal and preserved for kings and princes in pre- colonial Buganda. In 1887. as Kabaka (King) Mwanga was preparing to go for dinner, nobody knew that a creative chef was about to make history. Kawuuta, the king's chief cook,had just cooked luwombo, a meal first of it's kind in Buganda Kingdom. Luwombo can be made of chicken, beef, smoked fish, ground nut suace, or mushrooms and today,it is enjoyed by the rest of Ugandans. Not only royals like before.
