Steve Earle pays tribute to Kelley Looney (1957-2019) and sings “Pilgrim” (Stoughton WI, 16.xi.2019)

Kelley Looney (13 December 1957 - 4 November 2019) was Steve’s bass player since 1988, a songwriter himself, witty, funny, with enormously broad musical interests, and unfailingly kind and generous to Steve’s fans and all who had the pleasure of meeting him. My last and perhaps longest ever conversation with him was in the Troubadour in West Hollywood in August; we talked health and the history of Laurel Canyon For the upcoming Nashville tribute to Kelley Looney on Thanksgiving Eve: http://www.thebasementnashville.com/e... For the Lantern Tours benefiting the Women’s Refugee Commission, successor to the Lampedusa Tours benefiting Jesuit Refugee Services, see https://thelanterntour.org/ This was the second song of a two-song encore at Stoughton Opera House. Roy Huskey Jr. died in 1997 at the age of 40; his father Roy M. “Junior” Huskey was likewise a famed bass player who died prematurely.
