It's like Industrial Art to me!! This Charles Parker vise is a model 953-1/2, it weighs about 36 pounds and has 3-1/2” jaws. I don’t know the exact age, but I’m thinking post WW2 and no newer than the 60’s. I’ve seen similar models in the catalog pages from the 50’s. This is a fixed base model that fits over the edge of a workbench for added stability and access to the clamping area. The tall curved jaw design also allows access to the work piece superior to some other brands. Another great feature of this vise is the set screw for the handle as explained in the video. I did not want to do an over-the-top restoration of this vise, and simple cleanup and a coat of flat black paint. I highlighted the lettering in white to give it some pizzazz!
