Tauthali is a historical,religious and cultural(Newari) village under Tripura Sundari Rural Municipality Ward no.5 of Sindhupalchowk district.This historical city is rich in natural beauty.The main attraction of Tauthali is the original art,culture and lifestyle adopted by the newar community.The center of religious faith Tripurasundari Mai, Bhimsen's temple, and other places are in Tauthali.Similarly important tourist attraction such as japsiley chaur, khagal dada,jaljaley waterfall and ropeway are located here. Tauthali is also famous for the unique jatras performed here.From the day of janai purnima,Gunila is celebrated for 5 days.Thukchuku,deu pyakhan,majhipa naach and other dances are performed along with different rituals. Tripurasundari Mai has become the centre of faith of the devotees as it is a very old and powerful “Shakti Pith” that fulfils wishes.Especially the worship of Tripura Sundari Mai starts from Fulpati of Vijaya Dashami.On the day of Ekadashi,six lingos(doja) representing differnt communities are decorated with clothes,bangles,coins & ornaments.People dance along with doja on the premise of temple of Tripura Sundari Mai & perform different other rituals. Dahi jatra is a unique culture celebrated only in Tauthali.
