The WORSHIP MEDLEY is a series of local Malawian worship songs which Lloyd Phiri composed and some of the songs were not composed by Lloyd Phiri. The idea of recording these WORSHIP MEDLEY projects , came in Lloyd Phiri's mind led by the holy spirit. When Lloyd Phiri started recording his first album in 1999, whilst in studio, the holy spirit compelled to him to include the worship songs. And it was the first album in Malawi, that had worship songs in it. WHY DID LLOYD PHIRI DECIDED TO RECORD WORSHIP MEDLEYS AND INCLUDE THEM ON TO HIS MUSIC ALBUMS? The answer is that Lloyd Phiri when he received Jesus Christ in the year 1997, he developed the habit of gathering together with the disciples of Jesus Christ who during the meeting , they sing songs of praise and dancing, they as well sang songs of WORSHIP. When the holy spirit gave Lloyd Phiri the gift of singing , he took the same idea into a recording studio where he recorded the dancing songs and included the worship songs , so that when one buys the cassette/tape or disc, can enjoy , dance and worship at the same time. It's like bringing the whole church service into the house of the buyer. After releasing the first album, Lloyd Phiri received positive feedback from fans who bought the album. Beginning from that time , people who follow Lloyd Phiri and the Happiness Voices, they expect and know that that they will find the WORSHIP MEDLEY projects included in each album. A number of churches in Malawi do use Lloyd Phiri's worship songs during the service to worship God. They either play back the sound from the album and begin singing along and eventually enter into worship, or the Praise Team will practice the songs and sing them live in their churches and worship God. Recently, most malawi gospel musicians, have adopted the style of recording worship songs and release them to the public. Lloyd Phiri is an evangelist who spreads the WORD of God everywhere he goes. He likes man to man evangelism , and at times Lloyd Phiri accompanied by his band, they do perform in Prisons and donate various items towards inmates, they do perform in schools and universities. They also perform in villages for free and make call people to come to Jesus Christ. Lloyd Phiri is one the popular gospel musician in Malawi since 1999. One of his songs from the first album was voted as the best song of the year 2001. Lloyd Phiri and the Happiness Voices have 10 albums/projects Lloyd Phiri had got 7 WORSHIP MEDLEYS , meaning that there are worship medley in each album of Lloyd Phiri and the Happiness Voices.
