Added location names to the narrative (started in "Steel Division 2 Cinematic") Summary: I wanted to create a flipped scenario with this cinematic, which saw the US deploying a more attritional set of units (and doctrine), deploying more of a "turtling" strategy, whereas, the Soviets were deploying doctrine which emphasized a more lighter-foot with their division composition including more mechanized rifle platoons, and less tanks (I outnumbered Soviet armor 3:2 in the scenario), coordinated with a lager air-mobility footprint, both for infantry deployment and air assault elements. What we started to re-create imperfectly, was something that looked less like the US war fighting of the 1980s, and more of the 1970s attritional doctrine. I would like to explore this "stack" of units more, and hope there exist some capacity for more nuanced scenario planning supported by Eugen in the future via moding. Or at least more explicit defensive/offensive/tank-trap/mine capacity to craft different kinds of engagements beyond meeting. The aim of these videos is tell a story, but tell it "silently". I'm continually thinking about ways to communicate events, information, concepts, tactics, and scale. I did not include an after-action section, because this video is already too long. I am planning on a separate video to do post-mortem analysis.
