It amazes me how many films, especially indie ones, are made with weak scripts. Some filmmakers think they can work out the kinks during production, but that’s a risky gamble. My advice? Start with a rock-solid script—it’s the foundation of your film. Magpie Funeral stars Darren Burrows (Northern Exposure) as Sy McMurphy, Meredith Shank as Nancy, 5-year-old Elizabeth Leach as Lisa, David Weisenberg as Randy, and Carrie Gibson as Cheryl. About Writer & Director Greg Green: Greg grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. At age nine, he found an 8mm camera and started making movies. He attended the University of Iowa and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film. His latest feature, MAGPIE FUNERAL, is a personal story about never letting go of your dreams.
