Mud Volcanoes of Balochistan | Chandergup Mud Volcano | Balochistan Motorcycle tour

This is a video about Balochistan which is a land of natural wonders, unveils a hidden gem and the mud-spewing mountains. With approximately 100 of these unique formations scattered across the region, they have captivated travelers for generations. Their legacy traces back to 1862 when Major Frederick John embarked on his journey through Balochistan and immortalized these clay mountains in his travelogue. Today, these geological wonders continue to intrigue us, and research suggests they pose no danger. Rising between 800 to 1550 feet, these volcanic mountains owe their mystique to the interplay of various gases deep within the Earth's crust. Methane gas predominates among these subterranean elements. These mountains, in constant evolution, sprout cone-like formations atop their peaks. I've personally witnessed these natural wonders in Hangul National Park, Ormara, and the Awaran region. To witness Awaran's mud-spewing mountains, a 30-minute walk is worth the adventure. As you approach these volcanic giants, a mesmerizing network of small and large volcanoes unfolds. Approximately 30 of them, some still active while others are dormant, create an awe-inspiring spectacle for any visitor. On the journey from Hingol to Ormara, you'll encounter the Automatic Mid Volcano right on the road, a self-sustaining marvel that waxes and wanes at its own rhythm. This path leads you into a labyrinth of small volcanoes, some bubbling with mud, while others have solidified over time. The sandy road might pose some challenges, but the view is worth every step. In case of impassable terrain, I used a drone to capture the stunning scenery. And then, there are the rolling hills of Hingol National Park, enhancing the park's natural beauty. Among these volcanic mountains, Chandragup 1, 2, and 3 stand out. Chandragup 1 holds special significance for the Hindu community, who visit it during their pilgrimage to the Hinglaj temple, considering this place sacred. A visit to Hinglaj feels incomplete without paying homage to Chandragup. During the annual fair, thousands of pilgrims gather here. They offer coconuts, and light incense sticks, and express their gratitude to the divine for listening to their prayers. It's a place where they embrace the earth's mud and air pressure as arbiters of sin forgiveness. Coconuts are thrown into the mud-flowing mountains, wishes are made, and gratitude is expressed. It's a spiritual experience like no other. When you find yourself in Balochistan, make sure to include a visit to these extraordinary mud-spewing mountains on your itinerary.
