The evidence of horse breeding activity at Companhia das Lezírias goes back to it's foundation year, in 1836. Although, it was only in 1976 that a clear strategic option for the Lusitano breed was made. Located in Samara Correia, 30 minutes away from Lisbon, the evolution of this Stud's selection program is acknowledged and notorious. Guided by principles such as: functionality, morphology and gaits, their main goal is to select high level products with recognized quality. The breeding mares are considered the baseline for the selection program. Throughout the years, CL Stud has gathered countless embassors who grew on the 'lezírias' fields to become recognized starts who shine on the big stages of several equestrian disciplines: Zinque das Lezírias, world champion on Working Equitation; Biso das Lezirias with several accomplishments in Dressage, on international level; several gold medals and champion titles on Model and Gaits competitions.
