De-Floyding - Floyd Rose Conversion

Hi guys. This is an informative video about me converting a Charvel guitar with a Floyd Rose bridge into something that is more up my alley. After scouring the net for replacement bridges that will retro-fit using the Floyd Rose stud/post spacing, it turns out that ones options are extremely limited. I've put a Schaller "Vintage Tremolo" in my Charvel and have also replaced the locking nut with an "Ebanol." This new setup not only sounds a LOT better but also, adjustments, restringing and setup are now so much easier. More importantly, there were absolutely NO MODIFICATIONS required to the guitar. It is a direct "drop in" replacement for your existing Floyd Rose system. One thing I do strongly suggest is the use of a "trem-stopper" to ensure you can drop tune easily. This little device will also improve sustain by making another point of contact with the sustain block. The upgrades have been very positive: the sustain has improved dramatically and gone is the upper mid range spike that a Floyd seems to impart. I see a lot of guys trying to "fix" the Floyd problem by purchasing big brass and steel blocks and spending big dollar$ on titanium parts. In my opinion, unless you are hell-bent on using a Floyd to its maximum (squeals, dive-bombs, general wankery etc.) then the best thing to do is a conversion like this.
