We visited Grant Bay on northwest Vancouver Island June 14,2023. We were told Grant Bay is one of the nicest beaches on Vancouver Island. Because of the approximate 2-hour drive from Port Hardy on washboarded logging roads, not only is Grant Bay remote, but very few people visit making it an exceptionally beautiful and peaceful place. From the parking area, a trail leads about 500 meters through an old-growth coastal forest. Grant Bay is not far from Winter Harbour, and could also be tied in with a visit to Cape Scott.
