If your divorce feels messy, that's because it is. You should expect messy emotions in divorce. Love, hate, fear, loss, regret, shame... these are all normal, albeit stressful, feelings after divorce. You may find that you are still in love with ex wife, even though you think you shouldn't be. You might love your ex and hate her too, missing her horribly while feeling deeply betrayed by her. Why is my ex so mean? Why do I still want her after everything she's done to me? As upsetting and stressful as these feelings may be, they are normal, natural and healthy. You are feeling them because you loved her, because the marriage meant something to you. That is a good thing. Your heart and your capacity for deep love is a resource that will help you get your confidence back. Divorce can rob you of your self esteem. Connecting to the power of the love you are capable of is a meaningful way to overcome self doubt after divorce. If your divorce feels messy it simply means that you're a good person who wants to give and receive love. Nothing is more normal or healthy that that. Unfortunately that also means that you're going to go through some pain and some difficult emotions as you move on after divorce. You will find yourself missing your marriage, you'll find yourself feeling jealousy about your ex wife or wondering what to do about her. That's okay.
