May 16, 1993 - At the height of early 90's Charlotte Hornets fandom, second year All-Star Larry Johnson pieced together a quintessential LJ/Grandmama performance against the New York Knicks during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, scoring 24 points while trash talking, flexing, gyrating, and dancing all the way through. His trash talking counterpart, power forward Charles Oakley, ultimately prevailed despite Johnson's clutch fader with 30 seconds remaining. The Knicks eliminated the Hornets two games later. While the future appeared bright for Johnson and company, Charlotte sputtered through injuries and internal strife in subsequent years, ultimately resulting in the departure of Alonzo Mourning in 1995 and Johnson himself a year later.
