You don’t see many convertibles in India. Our weather in most parts of the country doesn’t suit such a lifestyle, which is why very few manufacturers indulge in the idea of bringing a soft-top to our shores. That makes the launch of the CLE 300 Cabriolet very interesting, because Mercedes thinks there is space for a non-AMG soft-top convertible to exist in its India portfolio. It is available as a CBU (completely built unit) and features a 2-litre, turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. The powertrain produces 254bhp and 400Nm of torque, with an additional 27bhp from the mild hybrid's overboost function. It achieves a 0-100kmph time of 6.6 seconds, making it both stylish and quick. Available exclusively online through the Mercedes-Benz India website, the CLE Cabriolet aims to attract a younger customer. Is it any good? We drive it to find an answer.
