Running a VR Arcade: Payment Proccessing & POS System | Virtual Reality Tips

Ashley Henson, Store Manager at Upward VR, gives in-depth analysis and reveals first-hand challenges that come with opening and operating a VR Arcade. [Begin Transcript] Early on, we were spending a lot of money on social media marketing, and we started questioning if that was actually what we were supposed to be doing or if we needed to revamp and relook at how we were marketing. For us, we added a component in our waiver at the end where it asks the person how they heard about us because if they're filling out a waiver, we know for certain that they have paid and that they are going to play VR. We started looking at the responses in that, and within just a couple months, we had over 1,800 responses that showed us that only 2% of our people coming in were coming in because they had heard about us in social media and any of those type of marketing. We quickly discovered that most were just walking by in the mall. In fact, 60% of our people were walking by in the mall, so we just had to rethink about, okay, if they're just walking by in the mall, then how do we get them. We started using more signage, obviously pushing the demo more as well, stuff that is obviously going to draw people because they're already here in the mall. When we first opened our arcade, one of the things we had to consider is what type of payment system we wanted to use, so we did quite a bit of research and decided that Square was what we wanted to use because we felt like it was the most user-friendly. It runs a whole bunch of reports for you. It's quick and easy to understand so our employees picked it up. It also allows us to have our employees clock in and do time card stuff, so that was super convenient for us. [End Transcript] https://springboardvr.com   / upwardvr
