Peavey Firenza guitar

I love this guitar. I consider it the little brother to my favorite guitar, the Peavey Wolfgang. Firenzas were built in same factory as the Wolfgangs in Leakesville Mississippi. Similar in size but with a 25" scale length compared to the Wolfgangs 25.5" scale. This particular guitar was built entirely from spare parts. I traded a Peavey Ranger amp for several Peavey bodies and necks. I reshaped the body a little bit. Took some off the top horn, made it shorter. Shaved a tummy cut on back and also where my right arm rests on the front. I used a Gotoh fixed bridge (same type that came on it stock). The pickup configuration was HSS. I don't use a single coil at the neck, so I just filled that are in. The bridge pup is a DiMarzio John Petrucci. The middle pup is a DiMarzio True Velvet. The pickup selector is the type used on a Wolfgang (or Les Paul) Position 1 is the bridge. Position 2 is bridge and middle. Position 3 is the middle pickup. The pos 1 and pos 2 sound very much like a Strat to me. It's the position I was using at the start of this video. The plate on the back was the lid from an old scanner/fax machine. Thank you Dremel tool. I don't have a real spray gun and have experimented for years trying to achieve a good paint job. Not there yet. On this guy I used a "hammered" paint from an aerosol can. It goes on thick and covers mistakes. It's silver with a dusting of light blue. ... American made Peavey guitars are really under-appreciated / overlooked. The good part of that is you can find some bargains on these guitars. The Firenza is great for beginners or advanced players and is good for a project. MUCH easier to experiment on than a Strat style guitar. If you see one of these in a pawn shop, trust me, the pawn shop does not know what they have. Give them $200, clean it up, and get yourself a very nice guitar.
