This is a follow up to a recent video showing our Wolf MWC24/MC24 Convection Oven/Microwave NOT HEATING food. It would appear to function normally (lights, fan, turntable, everything ok) except after you opened the door to get your food, it would still be COLD! This would happen randomly, so sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't! To avoid wasting time trying to cook (only to realize the food wasn't being heated at all), I installed a couple of indicator lights to show whether voltage was going to the magnetron (for microwave) or heating element (for convection oven). So if I saw my indicator lights on at least I would know when it was working. If it didn't see my indicator lights on, I would open the door and slam it shut again, and sometimes that would fix the problem for that cooking cycle but it didn't always work! After a while I noticed that if I press the door open button about half-way down it would activate the power for cooking. So I put a piece of cardboard and tape over the door button to press it in half way, but the tape would get loose. At least I narrowed down the issue to the door switches and so I ordered a few online and proceeded to find the faulty switch and install it in this video, but not without a few issues. First, the switches I got had thicker connectors so I needed to trim them down with my Dremel. However, this heated up the metal and I almost melted down the switch I was trying to modify! Second, I realized that the originally broken switch (which had turned into a "3-position" switch), could be "fixed" in a way by trimming down the orange button to turn it back to a "two-position". So technically I could have still used the original switch with a simple trim costing absolutely NOTHING! Either way, the fix was cheap whether using a new switch or modifying the old one, saving a THOUSAND DOLLARS with this basic repair!
