That Means A Lot- The Beatles (Guitar Cover)

Here's a rare Beatles song that wasn't released until 1996 on Anthology 2. It was written mainly by Paul McCartney, intended for the Help! movie and album. They recorded it on February 20, 1965 and decided to give the song away to P.J. Proby The backing track consisted of George on Fender Stratocaster, John on his Spanish Classical Guitar, Paul on bass and Ringo on drums. Overdubs included piano, maracas, and lead guitar The overdubbed guitar is only heard in the intro, and was most likely two electric guitars played in harmony. They both sound like 12-string electrics to me. It's unclear if it was just George, who overdubbed twice, or if George and John played in harmony at the same time The mix heard on Anthology has a lot of echo and reverb, similar to Ticket to Ride. This was all done after the fact at Abbey Road, you can hear bootlegs of a totally dry mix on Youtube For John's acoustic, I'm using my Admira Irene Spanish Classical. John used a pick while strumming, so I'm using one here too. For George's main rhythm electric, I'm using my Fender Custom Shop Sonic Blue Strat into my Vox AC-30C2x, top boost channel. George used an Vox AC-100 on the original The intro guitar is my Rickenbacker 360/12v64 into the AC-30. I added the echo in Pro Tools, using my Abbey Road plate reverb plug-in Some interesting quirks in John and George's playing: 0:00 The two rickenbackers start with the intro riff, in harmony 0:02 The Strat and Classical guitar enter 0:19 John plays a B6 chord throughout, with the top G sharp note 0:26 George sustains the F sharp minor chord 1:22 John does a big glissando strum on E 2:03 George
