Adding Reliable Evergreen Plants for a Year-Round Jungle & Winter Flowers

Today’s quick video is a look at 3 easy, tough and reliable evergreen plants I’ve recently bought for my tropical style UK jungle garden. With glossy leaves and winter flowers, these classy but low maintenance plants are perfect for shady gardens, small gardens and even containers where you want some evergreen structure and colour. A heavily reduced Fatsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’ had to come home with me following a recent garden centre visit and will brighten up a shady area with its large, variegated leaves. Mahonia ‘Sweet Winter’ was a plant I first saw at Simon Mabury’s amazing Leeds jungle garden and immediately knew its glossy, evergreen and exotic foliage would fit in well here so I’m pleased to have bought a couple from Craig over at Grow Paradise - lovely plants as always! Sarcococca ‘Purple Gem’ brings an incredible scent to the winter garden and would be an amazing plant to add fragrance to a small patio or seating area. Scent is something I want to introduce more of to my garden so stay tuned for my next vid to see more plant ideas! 0:00 Intro 0:51 Fatsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’ - easy evergreen structure for shade 3:52 Mahonia eurybracteata 'Sweet Winter' - exotic foliage & winter flowers 6:33 Sarcococca ‘Purple Gem’ - glossy evergreen foliage & amazing winter scent If you've enjoyed my content and would like to say thanks for the price of a coffee then please head over to my Ko-fi, any kind donations would be appreciated and put towards creating more exciting content (or treats for Max if you wish!): https://ko-fi.com/georgesjunglegarden Thanks, George
