ANDROID FILE TRANSFER WINDOWS 10 NOT WORKING // When you try to copy files such as music, videos and documents from your Windows PC to an Android phone, it could be very simple or there could be some issues. In this video, I would like to share with you one of the issues that can arise when trying to copy files from a Windows PC or laptop to your Android device. The solution for this issue is very quick and easy but if you don't know what to look for, it could very well be an unsolvable problem because it is not very obvious what to look for. It took me some time to figure it out so I would like to share it with others to help them facilitate in resolution of this issue. The problem lays in the total maximum amount of characters allowable in the filename of each particular file system. Most nowadays PCs have a modern NTFS file system which allows each filename to consist of up to 256 characters and the total path length is limited to approximately 32000 characters. On another hand most Android smartphones on the market today use a different file system such as FAT32/Ext3/Ext4 or exFAT. The amount of characters in the filename on an Android phone is limited to approx. 100 characters. So this being said, when you try to copy a file from your PC with a high amount of characters in the filename that works normally on the Windows PC to an Android smartphone, Windows will make a default sound that means something is not right, though not specifying what and where to look for and just won't copy the file. The solution is simple: shorten the filename of this file and then it can be copied without any issues. Hope you find this helpful!
