Nepal Art Council NAC was founded in 1962 with the Head of the State King Mahendra as its Patron and Prime Minister, Kirtinidhi Bista as its President. Conceived and structured as a Public-Private-Partnership, Lain Singh Bangdel leading modernist artist was its general secretary and General Mrigendra SIB Rana, promoter of education and the arts as its Treasurer. It played a pivotal role in promoting modern/contemporary art and artists of Nepal to raise it to the current level of excellence and is engaged in conservation and promotion also of various other genres including the traditional arts and crafts, folk art, and new and emerging genre of the arts. It provides a platform to local, regional, and international art and artists to showcase their work at its centrally located and well-equipped modern art space and galleries, in Kathmandu. It works in collaboration with other institutions with similar objectives, participates in prestigious regional and international exhibitions, and shares exchange programs and exhibitions with art institutions and artists globally, and more regularly from the SAARC and neighboring countries. Participating Artists Bijaya Maharjan Krishna Lama Pramila Bajracharya Rajani Sinkhwal Sujan Dangol Sunil Ranjit Cholamandal Artists' Village in Chennai is the creative expression of 30 artists guided by late Shri K C S Paniker way back in 1966. Cholamandal is an association of artists to provide adequate opportunities and create proper atmosphere for developing and utilising the artistic talents. Cholamandal promotes and encourages art education through workshops and exhibitions. The space provides a platform to enhance the aesthetic content of contemporary Indian Art. Cholamandal Centre for Contemporary Art houses the K.C.S.Paniker Museum of the Madras Movement.
