Chandil Dam is located in Chandil, Jharkhand. It stands on Subarnarekha River. It is one of the most visited places in Jharkhand. (approx 60 km) How to reach? - By road, located approx 4 km beside NH18 (NH333) in Chandil - By train, Chandil Junction (7 km) is the nearest railway station Amenities - Designated parking space for four wheelers and two wheelers - Many small restaurants offering fresh meals and snacks - I could not see washrooms Roads - - Approach roads to the dam has few broken patches but okay. Activities in Chandil Dam - Boating (different types of boats available) Ticket is Rs 100 per person. Large boats for bigger groups are also available. - Picnic and get-togethers. - Photography - Visiting Sheeshmahal museum - Walking on the dam Entry Fee - There is no entry fee for Chandil dam or Sheeshmahal museum Parking Fee - Rs 10 for two wheelers - Rs 30 for four wheelers Travel Tips - It gets very crowded in picnic season, so better to arrive and depart early to avoid jams - One can enjoy more if visiting in off season (no waiting in line for boating etc) Chandil Dam is a beautiful place and is great for picnics or day visits with one's friends and family throughout the year.
