DAY 4 OF 30 OF FINDING MY DAD Shot as a companion to my feature film debut Finding Dad, in this series I documented a 30 day journey to try to find my estranged father and make sense of his absence. Finding Dad explores how my parents' baggage has affected me. Our parents teach us how to navigate life and they lead by example. If they lack the tools and skills to deal with their negative patterns, how am I supposed to learn to deal with my own? In making this film I realized how common this issue was for other people and I wanted to be able to shed more light on it. So, in this series, I created more casual short form videos that document my experience finding my father coupled with the stories of other people grappling with the issues of childhood and parenting.
