STILLWATER: Things to Do: Amazing Food, Themed Bars & Interesting Shops along Main Street

Stillwater, MN is a hidden gem! We truly enjoyed our short visit here and spent a rainy, very cold, afternoon exploring the shops and restaurants and bars along Main Street and Water Street. Believe it or not, neither of us had ever stepped foot in an antique store before! There are several in this area so we decided to explore. It was like a trip down memory lane to my grandparents!!! There were so many small items there that I remember my grandparents having that I have not seen in years. The large amount of salt and pepper shakers really hit home for me as my grandmother collected them and we used to go to garage sales every Friday morning during the summers when we stayed at their house to see if we could find more. Being a Disney nerd, I of course searched for old Disney collectables and found some really cool ones. All in all, a really neat trip into the world of antiquing and I see why people enjoy it so much. We also discovered that many of the old buildings may look like they only hold one store from the outside, but once you step inside the space has actually been split up into many small, quaint shops. I found a homemade candy shop and HAD to but a huge chunk of fudge! It was so good! We popped into many of the restaurants and bars along the way and were blown away by the theming. There was a tiki themed bar, because you need a little bit of the tropics in frigid Minnesota and the coolest Mexican restaurant we had ever seen called Nacho Mama. I can’t really explain what the theming here was but we loved it! Especially the actual VW Bug cut in half and painted very hippy style hanging on the wall. Oh did I mention the horn and the fact they could trigger smoke coming out of the windows??? AMAZING! We also found an indoor food truck in a bar called Ziggy’s. We loved this town and hope to be able to visit again!!! Please SUBSCRIBE, Comment, Like, Share & Follow! Get to know our family and come along with us on our vacations...
