My first solo wild camp, will I do it again? Having returned to day hiking this year, I challenged myself and completed the Donards 7 7 in Norther Ireland (minus 4 toenails - remember to retighten those boots). I bought a Helm 2 tent after much research so hoping it lives up to the hype. I will be continuing to practise map reading, compass work, and timing estimations between checkpoints in misty weather conditions along the Anerin ridge in Leitrim; Ireland This may be of interest to you if you, like me, are getting on a bit and wondering if its something you can take up and enjoy in later life. Others more experienced might like to skip through to get a feel for the terrain in this area of the world.
