These are my favorite sketchbooks as of 2023. I go through a lot of sketchbooks, and use everything from watercolor, gouache, pencil, ink, and marker in them. I paint outside frequently so my criteria are pretty specific for what I consider to be the best sketchbook. I constantly have to weigh price, portability, and performance. Therefore my "favorites" change throughout the year. I get excited when I see a new 100% cotton sketchbook appear on the market, and usually buy it instantly.
