The History of Atari's Liberator : Failure to Launch

In this documentary, we take an in-depth look into the rare and under seen Atari arcade game Liberator from 1982. Atari was hoping this follow up to the classic game Missile Command would be a huge hit. Instead it would go on to become one of the lowest produced arcade games in Atari's history. We trace its development, history, and impact on the industry. The failure of the product can be seen in Atari's obsessive nature of test marketing, attempting to brand the game with the Atari Force characters, and an overlong development time.
