Visiting the Last Supper Painting by Leonardo da Vinci and Checking out the Milan Cathedral Roof!

With only 24 hours in Milan, we wanted to make sure that we saw as much as possible. Check out our previous video here:    • We are in Milan, Italy! What a Beauti...   In that video, we took a look at Leonardo da Vinci’s vineyard, walked through the new and modern part of the city of Milan, walked through the Galerie, one of the largest shopping malls in the world, traveled down to the Milan Castle, and so much more! Now, we were continuing our journey through history by visiting one of the most famous paintings in the world, the beautiful and spectacularly unique Last Supper by da Vinci. This painting is located in the historic Santa Maria delle Grazie church refectory, and it takes up an entire wall of the building! It is huge! Measuring in at 15 x 29 feet, it is more of a mural than a painting. It was quite an experience to see in person, and we just hope that it will continue to be restored so that future generations can see it as well. Leaving here, we decided to get some great Italian food and coffee at a little restaurant before continuing our travels. From there, we visited the La Scala, or the Scala Theatre. This 18th century building has played host to some of the most famous acts and plays in history, and operatic greats have also made this place their home over the years. We visited the museum and also got a chance to see into the main theatre hall, which was amazing. We walked back through the bustling city to come out into the Piazza del Duomo, or the Cathedral Square. This square is enormous, and it is flanked by the Galerie on one side, an ancient palace on another, and our next stop on the third side: the Milan Cathedral. The Milan Cathedral is actually the 6th largest cathedral in the world by total inside volume, and it showed. It was absolutely enormous, and unfathomably open inside. It even seemed like the cathedral was so big that it had its own atmosphere. To top of our visit, we also decided to climb up to the Cathedral roof where we could get a panoramic view of the city at sunset. It was absolutely stunning and unreal. You have to try this if you come to Milan. Overall, our trip was a great success. In less than 24 hours, we managed to see some of the most iconic and interesting historical sites in the city, and we had a great time doing it! Check out our other Milan videos, as well as the video where we took the night train (Nightjet train by OBB) from Munich to Milan here:    • Riding on a European Night Train | OB...   00:00 Getting to Milan and Intro 00:44 The Last Supper and Santa Maria delle Grazie 05:46 Getting Some Coffee and Italian Dessert! 07:11 The Scala Theatre 09:19 Milan Cathedral and Roof Tour 13:06 Roman Ruins at the Cathedral 14:03 Breakfast and Check Out 14:30 Milan Central Station 15:34 Outro Music: MBB & ASHUTOSH - Sky   / sky   Creative Commons License Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0) Music by MBB / mbbmusic
